Spotlight Interview: Luchi's Latest Song 'Fix This Love' is a Solid Masterpiece"

Luchi, a musician blessed with a golden voice of angelic bliss that were so excited to cover, he has recently released his latest song titled "Fix This Love", and it is nothing short of extraordinary. Taking listeners on a journey through the ups and downs of love, accompanied by a highly emotive piano and guitar production backdrop.

Today we sit down with the artist to talk all things life and music

1. Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland but now live in the North of England. I lived in London for 7 years as well but moved a little closer to home recently.

2. What was growing up like for you?

Growing up for me wasn’t the best of experiences. I didn’t have a great home life and school was tough for me too as I was badly bullied so that took its toll on me. I never felt safe as a child and that has lingered into my adult life. I don’t like to dwell on it as I’m a survivor in life and not a victim but it taught me to be resilient.

3. Was music around, any challenges you faced?

I didn’t come from a musical family so grew up on the radio but I think that helped me in being able to create commercial music as that was how I learned song structure and what made a song popular. I am a big pop music fan as that was what was popular at the time so it really guided me to explore the genre in my own way. My biggest challenge was knowing how to get heard as I didn’t have any connections to the industry and knew that I would have to leave where I was from in order to pursue my dreams.

4. How did you get into music?

I started writing songs at 13 as a therapeutic outlet for my feelings and when I was 18, I started to visit recording studios to develop my sound. It was 9 years later in 2017 before I released my first single as I wanted to make sure that when I did release music, it was material that I was happy with and knew the direction I wanted to go. I’ve always had music in my DNA so I knew it was the direction I wanted to take my life in.

5. Who are you biggest musical inspirations?

My biggest inspirations are artists who are honest and vulnerable, addressing issues that are often uncomfortable, sharing their life experiences to help others. Artists like P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, Adele, Sam Smith, Lewis Capaldi, Callum Scott, Adam Lambert, Michael Rice.. artists who aren’t afraid to be themselves.

6. Can you explain what your creative process is like when creating new work, did this change for the new single?

To be honest, it’s different every time. Mostly it’s a melody or lyric that I hear in my head, and then the song builds from there, but there have been times where I’ve written to a track or a beat, and that’s inspired me in a particular direction.  I have hundreds of voice notes on my phone of melody ideas that come to me and a bunch of lyrical ideas in my notes as inspiration comes from all different places in life. With Fix This Love, I just sat at my keyboard and started singing; it just flowed out of me. All the emotions were there, and it was one of those songs that wrote itself. I love it when that happens as it just comes out of you and you feel like you’re just a channel for the song, it’s a bit of an out-of-body experience and usually, those are the songs that people connect with the most because they are just real and authentic.

7. Looking ahead can we expect new work possibly a full-body album in the future?

At the moment, I have lots of music ready to go but an album isn’t something I’m quite at the stage of doing. It’s a tough one because I have lots of ideas for what I would want it to look like but I’m just not at the stage yet where I’m ready to release my debut album.

8. Have you had the opportunity to do many live performances, if so is there a show that stands out to you?

I’ve done lots of performing over the years and each show stands out for its own reasons. I’d say when I done a live showcase at The Piano Works in London just after releasing my first single stands out the most because it was my first full show of original material and I was really humbled by how well it went down with the audience. It can be nerve wracking doing a show of original material when the crowd don’t always know the songs but it was a show that I’ll always hold in fond memories.

9. In terms of creative achievements what would you say so far has been your biggest highlight?

I think for me, it’s not about the awards and accolades, while they are nice to have, for me it’s when I get messages from my audience and they say a song has helped them though a particularly hard time in their life or they have related to it and it’s it’s helped them. That to me is what it’s all about. Music is a healer for me and I love being able to do that for others.

10. Do you have a message for your new and current listeners?

It would just be a thank you for listening and that I hope that you enjoy my music. It’s been a long road to get here and I appreciate all the love I have received. Hopefully you’ll stick with me for the next chapter of my musical journey and big love always for me.

With his angelic voice and undeniable musical prowess, Luchi is undoubtedly a rising star in the music industry.
