Spotlight interview: Luchi talks new music and his stunning single "Web of Lies"

Today we had the pleasure to sit down with the ever impressive Luchi, a stunning vocalist and artist who is returning on the cusp on his highly anticipated new single release "Web of Lies"

We were introduced to Luchi last year and were blown away by his incredible talent and were pretty sure you will be! He spoke with us on a number of topics from early life, creativitiy, aspirations and his incredible musical backstory:

1. Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland.

2. What was growing up like for you?

Growing up wasn’t the easiest got me but all my experiences have shaped who I am and have given me lots of inspiration to be able to write my songs and connect with people.

3. Was music around, any challenges you faced?

My parents weren’t big into music so I grew up listening to the charts and music that was popular at the time. Being the late 90s, it was pop heavy so I think that is where developed my love of pop music and I think it shaped my writing as well in a more commercial leaning.

4. How did you get into music?

I’ve always been into music but I was about 13 when I started writing songs, more as a therapeutic outlet as I had a lot of feelings and no way to get them out and that developed over the years until I started visiting studios about 17/18 and learning the process of recording. I wanted to learn all parts of the process before releasing music and had to find my sound and my style so experimented with lots of different genres and styles of music before landing on what was right for me. There are a lot of demos from that time that I hope never see the light of day haha. It was 2017 that I started releasing music independently.

5. Who are you biggest musical inspirations

For me, the best artists are the ones that make me feel something. People like Adele, P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, Dolly Parton… when I listen to their songs, I feel what they are singing and it touches me. I draw inspiration from all over through and a lot of my inspiration comes from studying songwriters like Diane Warren for example, her writing is so incredible but a lot of the general public wouldn’t know who she is, they would just know the songs and the artists she has worked with. I always like to see who wrote the songs. People like Toby Gad, Ryan Tedder, Max Martin… names a lot of people wouldn’t know instantly but you would definitely be able to sing their songs.
