We sat down with the ever exciting and versatile music artist Katherine Appello, who's music provides listeners with hope, inspiration and escapism from the fast paced world we now live in. We explore some of Katherines start into music, her youth and initial desire for creating her musical art.
1. Where are you from?
New Jersey, United States,
2. What was growing up like for you?
It was tough because of my parents divorce, and also I often felt I didn't belong. When others wanted to go out and party I wanted to stay home listen to music, write, sing, go to poetry nights.
3. Was music around, any challenges you faced?
Music has always been a part of my life, even spiritual instrumental music.
4. How did you get into music?
I started with poetry and then started writing songs, did poetry nights, armature nights. 5. Who are you biggest musical inspirations
There isn't only one and it's more about certain songs inspiring me, songs in the country, soft rock, like some of Meatloaf's songs, even faith songs, as well as life events, even a scene in a TV show might inspire something. I have a dear friend who is a singer songwriter Kim and she is also an inspiration.
